ELTON, La. — The community of Elton is mourning the loss of 30-year-old Joseph Poncho, who was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on LA 395 near Tupper Road. The accident occurred shortly before 4 a.m., when Poncho was driving a 2014 Cadillac SRX northbound. For reasons still under investigation, his vehicle swerved across the opposite lane, left the highway, and struck a culvert.
Poncho was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and the tight-knit Elton community devastated, struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.
