KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — The Kershaw County community is heartbroken over the untimely passing of 13-year-old Cannon Turner, who tragically lost his life in an ATV accident on Monday evening. The crash occurred in a wooded area along Buck Hill Road in Ridgeway, according to Kershaw County Coroner David West.
Dispatchers received reports of the accident around 7:15 p.m., and upon arrival, first responders confirmed that Turner, a bright and cherished student at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School, had died at the scene. Despite the swift efforts of emergency personnel, his young life could not be saved.
Cannon’s family, friends, classmates, and the wider Ridgeway community are grieving deeply, remembering his joyful spirit, kind heart, and the warmth he brought into every life he touched. His laughter, friendship, and love will be sorely missed but forever cherished.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Kershaw County School District has been contacted for further comment.
