In Loving Memory of Ashley Marie Hall

DES MOINES, Iowa — With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the community is mourning the tragic loss of Ashley Marie Hall, 36, of Des Moines, who was fatally shot early Friday morning, April 10, 2026.

According to the Des Moines Police Department, officers and first responders were called to the 3200 block of 30th Street at approximately 3 a.m. after reports of a shooting inside an apartment. When authorities arrived, they located Hall inside the residence. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators later determined that Hall had been shot with a pistol. Police said both Hall and another woman were guests at the apartment at the time of the incident.

Later Friday afternoon, the Des Moines Police Department Crimes Against Persons Section announced the arrest of 46-year-old Sharneeka Evans, also of Des Moines. Evans has been charged with First Degree Murder, a Class A felony, in connection with Hall’s death. Authorities stated that evidence indicates Evans used a pistol to shoot Hall, leading to her death at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine what led up to the deadly shooting.
