In Loving Memory of Britney Lee Gough-Tackett
Zanesville, Ohio
It is with deepest sorrow and aching hearts that we announce the passing of Britney Lee Gough-Tackett, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend, and nurse whose radiant smile, generous heart, and unshakeable spirit touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Britney passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to others that will never be forgotten.
Born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio, Britney was a proud 2009 graduate of West Muskingum High School, where she was known for her cheerful personality, strong friendships, and involvement in school activities. She pursued her passion for helping others by attending Central Ohio Technical College, where she earned her nursing degree in 2014.
Britney’s career as a Registered Nurse at Mid-Ohio Behavioral Health was not just a job—it was a calling. She cared deeply for her patients, always treating them with dignity, kindness, and patience. Her colleagues admired her professionalism and her unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of those who were struggling. She approached each day with purpose and brought light to even the darkest situations.
Outside of her professional life, Britney was a devoted wife to her loving husband, a nurturing and proud mother, and a deeply valued member of her extended family. She adored spending time with her children, who were the joy and center of her world. Whether cheering them on at school events, helping with homework, or cuddling on the couch, she poured her heart into motherhood with unmeasurable love and joy.
Britney had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. Her laugh was infectious, her hugs healing, and her friendship unwavering. She loved music, nature walks, baking treats for her kids, and Sunday afternoons with her family. She was fiercely loyal, incredibly compassionate, and always ready to help—often putting others before herself.
Her sudden departure has left a void that can never truly be filled. But in our grief, we find solace in the precious memories we shared with her, the love she gave so freely, and the example she set of what it means to live with purpose, grace, and generosity of spirit.
Britney is survived by those who loved her most, including her husband, children, parents, siblings, and countless friends and coworkers whose lives were touched by her kindness.
A service to celebrate Britney’s beautiful life will be held in Zanesville (details to be announced). The family invites all who knew and loved Britney to attend and share in the remembrance of her extraordinary life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a mental health or nursing-related charity in Britney’s name—continuing her lifelong mission of compassion and care.
Rest in peace, Britney. You were truly one of a kind, and your love and light will live on in all of us.
