In Loving Memory of Tristan Boyles

It is with heavy hearts that the Kendallville community mourns the tragic loss of 25-year-old Tristan Boyles, who was killed in a devastating single-vehicle crash Sunday morning in DeKalb County.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at approximately 7 a.m. in the 500 block of County Road 52 near Garrett. Investigators said Boyles was traveling east when his vehicle left the roadway on the south side and struck a utility pole.

Authorities said the impact caused the vehicle to roll onto its roof before coming to rest in high water along the side of the roadway. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where the Garrett Fire Department worked to remove Boyles from the vehicle. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Garrett Police Department and Parkview EMS also assisted in the response. The crash remains under investigation, and officials have not released further details regarding what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.

As loved ones struggle to come to terms with this sudden loss, Tristan is being remembered as a proud Kendallville native with strong ties to the community. He was associated with Tire Star and had connections to Lakewood Park Christian School. Tristan also pursued studies through Purdue Forestry and Natural Resources, reflecting his interest in building a future through education and hard work.

Tristan Boyles’ passing has left family, friends, classmates, and the Kendallville community heartbroken as they mourn a life taken far too soon.
