Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured in Griswold Crash

VOLUNTOWN, Conn. — The Voluntown community is mourning the tragic loss of Nathan Musto, 35, who was killed Saturday afternoon in a devastating motorcycle crash in Griswold.

According to authorities, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 4:31 p.m. on April 4, 2026, at the intersection of Stone Hill Road and Roode Road. Investigators said the crash involved a 2012 Nissan Frontier pickup truck and a 2012 Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle, which Musto was operating at the time.

During the collision, both Musto and his passenger were reportedly thrown from the motorcycle, suffering serious injuries. Musto was transported to Backus Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The passenger sustained suspected serious injuries and was rushed from the scene for emergency medical care. LifeStar also responded to assist due to the severity of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and reportedly refused medical treatment at the scene.

The crash remains under active investigation by Connecticut State Police Troop E and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad, as officials work to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the deadly impact.
