Piedmont Park Shooting: 16-Year-Old Fatally Shot, Another Teen Injured

ATLANTA, Ga. — The Atlanta community is grieving the tragic loss of 16-year-old Tianah Robinson, a North Clayton High School student, who was fatally shot in a double shooting at Piedmont Park on Saturday evening. Another teenage girl, 15, was also injured in the shooting, suffering a gunshot wound to the shoulder. She was alert and breathing when transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The shooting occurred near Lake Clara Meer around 9 p.m., shortly after the city’s 404 Day festival had concluded. Authorities confirmed that the shooting was not connected to the festival and appeared to involve an unpermitted gathering at the opposite end of the park.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, reporting that several teenagers arrived with backpacks and ski masks before gunfire erupted. Atlanta police are actively investigating the incident, reviewing video footage from the park, and gathering information from witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time.

In a statement, 404 Day organizers expressed sorrow over the tragedy and extended their condolences to the families affected, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to community safety.

Friends, family, and the Atlanta community are now left mourning the sudden and devastating loss of Tianah Robinson, whose life was tragically cut short. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation unfolds.
