Two Pedestrians Killed in Downtown Nashville Hit-and-Run

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tragedy struck downtown Nashville early Sunday morning after two pedestrians were killed in a devastating hit-and-run crash on Lafayette Street.

According to Metro Nashville Police, the incident happened around 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Lafayette Street. Investigators say a 2011 Lexus 250 sedan was traveling outbound at a high rate of speed when it struck Yulonda Parham, 31, and Kanon Oldham, 27.

Both victims suffered critical injuries and were rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that the male driver pulled over after the crash but fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a heartbreaking scene and two lives lost. The registered owner of the Lexus later responded to the scene and attempted to assist investigators, though police say it remains unclear whether she knew who was driving the vehicle or if the car had been stolen.

Authorities noted there were no immediate signs of alcohol or drug use found inside the Lexus. The vehicle was towed for forensic analysis as detectives continue working to identify the driver and determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

The deaths of Parham and Oldham have left loved ones devastated and the Nashville community shaken by the sudden loss of two young lives. Family and friends are now left grieving an unimaginable tragedy as they search for answers and justice.
