Two Pocatello Residents Killed in Power County Shooting Incident

POWER COUNTY, Idaho — Authorities have confirmed the identities of two individuals who were killed in a shooting on Tank Farm Road in Power County on Friday, April 3, 2026.

The deceased have been identified as Brandon Lee Madden, 40, of Pocatello, and Amanda Ann Christian, 36, of Pocatello. Next of kin have been notified.

Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner expressed condolences, stating, “My heart goes out to the families involved and the Power County community affected by this tragedy.”

Officials confirmed that a third decedent, involved in an officer-involved shooting, will be released pending next of kin notification.

The Power County Sheriff’s Office is leading the homicide investigation with assistance from the Idaho State Police and Bannock County Coroner’s Office. The Idaho Falls Police Department remains the lead agency investigating the officer-involved shooting.

Multiple agencies assisted in the response and investigation, including the Bannock County and Power County Coroner’s Offices, Bannock and Bingham County Sheriff’s Offices, Blackfoot, Chubbuck, Pocatello, and American Falls Police Departments, Idaho State Police, Idaho Fish and Game, and Portneuf Air Rescue. EMS and ambulance services were provided by Pocatello, Fort Hall, and Power County.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
