SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. — The community is mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of 48-year-old Jason Landgraf of Sheboygan, who lost his life Sunday afternoon following a devastating incident along Interstate 43.
According to a statement released by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 4:12 p.m. to the northbound lanes of I-43 near Garton Road in the Town of Mosel after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a semi-truck.
Authorities say that Mr. Landgraf had pulled his vehicle over to the side of the interstate for reasons that remain unclear. At some point after exiting his vehicle, he was struck by a passing semi-truck. The impact proved fatal.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene and immediately began administering life-saving measures. Despite their efforts and dedication, Mr. Landgraf was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have since conducted a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
